Nerdy-ness and Summer

It’s 1 in the morning on July 11th. I’m not tired and Naomi just got off AIM. I’m currently listening to the Lost Woods theme from Ocarina of Time. This is a great way to start the day.

The end of the school year was better than I thought it would be. I was dying to get out of school for over a month. By May I just stop caring about my school work and focus mainly on making sure my summer is filled with exciting things to do. Finals were easier than I expected. My World Civ teacher forget to put 5 questions on the test, so basically it went question 1, question 2, question 4, question 5, question 7, and so on. Because of her mistake, we all got 5 free points, yay!  I got a B on this final, which kept my World Civ grade at a B, my best grade of the term (I’m still working on getting back into my old nerd ways of studying and being a good student that I purposely got rid of in 8th grade. Next year will be better!). The same day I had my World Civ final I also had my Math final. It was mostly multiple choice. My normal math tests are all open response so I found this very strange. I did fairly well on this final but there was one question I screwed up on. The question said something like “In how many years will George have $5 if he starts out with 6 cents and the interest rate is .9?” And my answer came out to be 207 years which was obviously wrong because it should have been like 20. So next to the question i wrote “I realize I did this wrong”, so my teacher at least knows I’m not a complete idiot. He might think I’m just lazy for not trying to fix it. Between the two finals I took my girlfriend to Casa Blanca for mexican food (which I hate) but it was fun anyways.

On Monday (the 20th I believe) I didn’t have a final, so my mom took me to breakfast at this place in NH. I got pancakes and bacon and homefries and they were all very good. After, she ran some errands at the mall and looked for a new purse. I don’t understand how many purses a woman needs, my mom has something around 50 of them already. About 3 hours of purse shopping later, my mom took me to get Ocarina of Time 3D. I remember playing the original Ocarina of Time when I was like 8 at my cousins house, I was stuck on the first level. When I was 12 I bought it on the virtual console on the Wii and got to the Forest Temple, which is still pretty sad. On OoT 3D I’m in the Spirit Temple. I don’t play much so I’m proud of myself for getting that far. Because of this game I have been extremely obsessed with all of the music and I’m constantly on Youtube listening to stuff from the game.

On Tuesday the 21st, the last day of school, I had my Environmental Science final. I hated Esci and I never payed attention which made this final was extremely annoying.  I was at Cedar Point in Ohio for the taxonomy unit so I had no idea what to do because taxonomy took up a lot of the test. The essay question, however, is what pissed me off the most. There were 3 essay questions on the study guide. One of those would be used on final. Every single class got the Deciduous Forest essay, so that’s the one I studied. But of course, being in the idiot filled level 2 class, we got the one about the turtle that was extremely easy with only one diffucult part to it. That one diffucult part was worth the most points out of any other question on the final, and I had no idea what to answer it with. I ended up getting a D on that final, bringing my C to a D+. Wooo. After that, me and two friends walked to a local breakfast place for..breakfast. One of my friends didn’t get food despite not eating earlier that morning. I offered to buy her something but she refused. Too bad. After that we walked to the organic food store and wrote on each other with lipstick. It was very fun. Later that same night we went to one of my friend’s houses and made a cake for Brandon Flower’s birthday, reliving 6th grade. We had a competition which was about something (I don’t remember what it was, must be my alzheimers..), and I was supposed to write a poem about my ginger friend,  which ended up being about another friend humping the air. The humping the air friend then had to do an interpretive dance to this poem, which is why I wrote about her humping the air. Turns out a few weeks later her mom found the poem, with my name at the top. Embarassing.

More recently, I’ve been to the Bahamas. We stayed at the Atlantis resort, which was really nice (as is the whole country). Inside the resort there’s a water park with some of the best waterslides I’ve ever been on. There was one that goes straight down and it’s pitch black, and when you get to the bottom, there’s a pool and an underground aquarium. We stayed at the Harborside which isn’t really a hotel, it’s a bunch of condos all together, and it’s kind of isolated from the water park but it’s walking distance from the downtown area. But anyway, our travel to get there was not easy. We woke up at like 3 on Tuesday to catch our 6:30 flight out of Boston. When we were ready to board, it was announced that the pilots needed their 8 hours of rest by law, so we had to wait an extra half hour because the pilots are lazy (by law). About 10 minutes from landing, the pilot told everyone that we would have to circle around the airport for an hour due to air traffic. When we finally landed, we had 10 minutes to run to our connecting flight to the Bahamas. By the time we got there, 3 minutes before the plane was supposed to take off, the plane had already left  5 minutes early with only HALF of the plane filled. The plane seated about 100 people, and 20 of the 50 people that didn’t make it were all on the Boston flight. So we were all there complaining. Keep in mind that the other 3o or so people were still in the air circling around the airport. So as everyone’s bitching and complaining, I’m talking to this girl who’s a year older than me and she;s telling me about how her brother met Will Smith last time they came, and he’s going to be there again while we’re there. I found that to be very cool. About an hour later, (we are still the only 20 people there, besides a couple that due to air traffic missed their flight to the Dominican Republic which was their honeymoon trip), the father of the girl I was talking to called his travel agent and got us all tickets for later that day to fly to Miami from Philidelphia (where we were at the time), and then from Miami to the Bahamas. So, we all had to run their to catch that flight. As we’re boarding, my dad asks the pilot if they can accomidate my brothers peanut allergy, and the pilot rudely says to my dad “No, we serve peanuts on this plane, and we’re not going to stop.” So I looked at the pilot and said “Are you kidding me? We’ve been here for hours trying to go to the Bahamas and if you serve peanuts on this plane my brother will die.” And the pilot just looked at me. I was extremely pissed already at how the day had turned out and I was no happier about this. So we just walked off the plane. As we were getting off, the family that had got us the free tickets were not allowed to get on the plane because the travel agent accidentally overbooked, so we gave the tickets to them. We ended up flying to Charlotte and spending the night there before flying to the Bahamas. Oh wow this was a long paragraph, extremely sorry about that xD Anyway it was a good vacation!

Besides that, my summer has been filled with trying to see the same friends, which continuously fails due to two people who can’t make a commitment, and going on the boat, which my friend nicknamed “The Family Time Destroyer”, because my boats name is “Family Time” (my mom’s idea, I know it sucks, and my proposed name was “The Destroyer” which my mom did not like.

I guess that’s really it for now. I hope to post again in like a week or so.
